Ammonia solution NH₃ – Xilong chemical exists in liquid form with a characteristic pungent odor, can dissolve in water when existing in solution form.
Ammonia NH₃ is stored at low temperature and pressure. If NH₃ is stored at -77.7⁰C, it will freeze and exist as white crystals.

Application:
- Fertilizer production: Ammonia is rich in Nitrogen, an essential element and a necessary source of nutrients for plant growth.
- Production of MSG (monosodium glutamate): used in microbial fermentation
- Rubber industry: is an antifreeze commonly used to preserve natural rubber latex.
- Detergent: Ammonia solution is used as a common industrial and household cleaning agent as a steel surface cleaner before plating and in the production of detergents.
- Refrigeration industry: Ammonia gas is used as a refrigerant in industrial refrigeration systems (cold storage)
- Thermal power, oil refining, etc.: used as a catalyst in SNCR/SCR exhaust gas treatment systems to minimize NO x , SO x emissions causing environmental pollution.
- In addition, liquid ammonia is also used in the production of nitric acid, textile dyeing, hair dyeing, etc.
How to preserve NH 3 :
For safe storage of NH 3 , use liquid tanks or containers that are clearly labeled to ensure easy identification. Avoid filling liquid NH 3 containers to more than 80% of their volume to ensure spare space. Storage should be carried out in closed containers, placed in dry, cool, well-ventilated areas. Avoid placing near sources of heat, high humidity and flammable materials.
