Responding to World Environment Day, KPT Group cooperated with Long Dien District People’s Committee and Ho Chi Minh City Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment (HANE) to organize KPT festival with the theme “Saving the Sea Without Plastic Waste”.
As an FDI unit operating and doing business in Vietnam, KPT always puts environmental criteria first. The business focus is always towards a clean and green working environment. Specifically, every year during World Environment Month, KPT always has positive activities to join hands to protect the environment.
This year, KPT chose Long Hai beach as the gathering place for the leadership, staff and students of Long Hai District to participate in the beach cleaning movement. Meaningful activities include: Picking up trash on the beach, Drawing pictures about the marine environment.

Members participate in picking up trash on the beach
Activities took place bustlingly in the morning at Long Hai beach. The weather was quite hot but the members were very enthusiastic in participating in cleaning up the beach, each plastic bottle and nylon bag was neatly placed in the designated place.
The most special part was the painting program, the judges were most impressed with the ” Pink Dolphin ” team, this is a very young team but has a very clear understanding of the pollution of plastic waste on our living environment, the contrasting picture between 2 seas, one is polluted and the other is clean and fresh. The ” Blue Sea ” team is different with a picture of a turtle representing marine creatures that are suffering all the consequences of waste discharged by humans, but it is also the strong arms of humans that reach out to support them, and many other impressive pictures drawn by students and employees of KPT company together.

Through the contest, the judges realized that although the children were still young, they knew how to take responsibility for environmental protection through each picture they drew. They knew how to send a strong message “we, and no one else, are responsible for what we do”. After the contest, the organizers selected 3 impressive pictures to give back to the accompanying units as souvenirs

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Nhan – Vice Chairman of Long Hai Town People’s Committee called for: “Each member of us joins hands to protect our living environment, together limit waste to the environment, through this program, we hope that the group of companies will pay more attention and support the locality in the coming time so that our sea will become more and more beautiful, contributing to the economic development of the district and raising awareness for the future young generation”.
Mr. John Tay – CEO of KPT shared: “The event is not only a simple festival program of the company but also a strong desire to spread to positively impact the awareness of each member in the company in particular and the young generation in general to be responsible for the environment we live in,” let’s start the journey to save the ocean without plastic waste from today “he said.
Accompanying KPT in many activities and events, for many years, HANE Association has planted trees and picked up trash from near the city, Can Gio District, to far away, Long Hai beach, to join hands to contribute to protecting the environment in general and the destinations in particular. Speaking at the event, Mr. Dang Van Khoa – Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment emotionally shared: ” The Association is very grateful for the actions of KPT Company towards the Vietnamese environment, with extremely profound environmental significance. Thank KPT for taking action to spread this meaningful work to the district .” Chairman Dang Van Khoa also sent his warmest words to the students present at the event and hoped that they would always be aware of these meaningful actions, just like the pictures they drew today.
The characteristics of plastic waste are durable over time, while humans are too dependent on plastic materials, resulting in millions of tons of plastic waste being dumped into the ocean and the living environment, affecting the alarming state of environmental pollution. Mr. Nguyen The Phong – Vice Principal of Pham Hong Thai Secondary School also responded to the call for all members present at today’s ceremony to join hands to change their thinking and raise awareness to help our environment become cleaner, our seas become clearer, and our lives become more beautiful. Every year, about 11 million tons of plastic waste are dumped into the ocean, an alarming number for us to reflect on and change our daily habits of using plastic products in violation of their inherent presence.
